Coolbreeze™ offers state of the art custom designed Heat Cool Unit, CHC series. The CHC series is engineered with sound, airflow and quality in mind.

Cooling Section:

The cooling section shall consist of direct expansion or chilled water coils.
• All coils are ARI rated and tested at 400 PSIG.
• A 304 stainless steel angle rack supports all coils.
• All coils are mounted on a 16-gauge 304L stainless steel hat section.
• Cooling coil section shall have a 16-gauge 304L stainless steel drain pan complete with a minimum 1” diameter stainless steel drain connection.
• Stacked cooling coils shall have an intermediate 16-gauge 304L stainless steel drain pan draining to the lower drain pan.
• For every 3 foot height of coil the drain pan shall be a maximum of 1’6”long
• Drain pans shall be sloped to the drain side.
• Coils shall be individually removable.
• All chilled water coil connections shall extend through the coil casing with a rubber grommet sealing at the point of protrusion for ease of connection to the remote chiller.
• The direct expansion coil maybe piped to Coolbreeze’s custom designed condenser or a remote condenser.

Heating Section:

Hot Water or Steam Coil:
• The heating may also be accomplished by using a Hot water or steam coil with a remote or built in boiler.
• With the boiler being an integral part of the unit installation costs are a minimum and serviceability easier.

The Heating section may be one of the following:

Indirect Fired Heat Exchanger:

• The indirect fired heat exchanger section is designed with heat transfer, aerodynamics and acoustics in mind to give the chamber a longer life and quietness.
• The heating section shall be a positive pressure two or three pass heat exchanger with a stainless steel primary and secondary.
• The heat exchanger shall be free floating for ideal stress relief.
• The heat exchangers secondary shall have a condensate drain.
• The burners shall be Gordon-Piatt or Maxon In-line burner
• The burner shall be able to modulate with 15 to 1 turndown. Two stage furnaces are available.
• The heat exchanger casing shall have minimum 1” insulation with 20-gauge galvanized solid liner or perforated.

Electric Heat:

• All electric heat coils are CSA and UL approved.
• The electric heat coil will be selected for a maximum of 24 Kw/SqFt.
• The electric heat coil control cabinet is on the opposite side to the access doors in order to reduce the length of the unit.
• The Heating coil may be controller via a SCR controller.
• The SCR controller may be controlled as follows:
• A duct sensor will control discharge air temperature proportionally and also allow for a room sensor override to supply more heat to the room.
• A 4-20MA or 0-10VDC signal by the BMS.
• The coil elements may have the following construction:
• Coil elements are 80% nickel, 20% chrome and shall be insulated by floating ceramic brushes from the steel frame.
• Tubular element duct heaters are available for special corrosive applications or where sheathed elements are required.
• Safety Controls:

A) High Limit
B) Auxiliary High Limit
C) Air Proving Switch
D) Door Switch (Lockouts heat when blower door is open)
E) Fan delay off

Condenser Section:

The cooling section shall consist of direct expansion or chilled water coils.
• All coils are ARI rated and tested at 400 PSIG.
• Designed to be an integral part of the unit. The tonnage range of the condenser section range from 5 ton to 200 tons.
• Designed to meet any sound criteria if required.
• The condensing section shall have minimum of two stages of cooling.
• The Direct Expansion coil shall have 5/8” diameter copper tubes, aluminum fins and galvanized casings.
• The Condensing coils shall be constructed of 3/8” diameter copper tubes, aluminum fins and galvanized casings.
• The condenser fans shall be propeller type either direct drive or belt driven. Centrifugal fans are available for tight noise specifications • The compressors shall be hermetic reciprocating compressors for tonnage under 20 tons and hermetic, semi-hermetic compressors for 20 ton to 40 ton and screw compressors for over 40 ton.
• The sight glass, thermal expansion valve, compressors, condensing fans shall be installed in such away that they easily serviced.
• Large condensing units will have hot gas bypass on the first stage of cooling.
• Each Condensing Unit has the following Safeties:

- Ambient Lockout
- High-Low Pressure Switch
- Lockout Relay to prevent cycling of compressors on Ambient Lockout
- Compressor Overload Lockout
